Brian Holl, the man behind the Boy Bjorn moniker and also one half of electronic-folk duo Foreign Fields, found the inspiration for his new material after recently returning to a quieter life in his home state of Wisconsin.

Holl says: “I have an affection for this place that's mirrored often by a sort of worry that I have let myself go. It's a move away from Nashville. And it's not NY or LA. It's a simple place with traffic that only lasts for 5 minutes. I think it's had a profound affect on my writing the last year. Simpler songs have come and gone and some will make their way on to this EP.”

This switch in pace is reflected in the music with Boy Bjorn opting for a softer production approach. Always Searching opens with shuffling, almost awkward, beat over which gentle keys, dreamy electric guitar and contemplative vocals carry you through an afternoon laid back soul searching.

The single arrives whilst Boy Bjorn is in the midst of a 14 date tour across North America with fellow Communion artist Matthew and the Atlas – full list of dates below.

Always Searching was produced by Brian Holl with Grammy winning Joe Visciano (Blood Orange, Beck, SYML) on mixing duties and follows Boy Bjorn’s 2018 debut album Mistaken Animals (Communion Records).
